Combine your love of good books and delicious food with ‘Books For Brunch’ sessions every month at The Fable Bar & Restaurant in Farringdon.Immerse yourself in the venue’s beautiful book-inspired décor and enjoy discussions with emerging authors whilst indulging in complimentary, freshly-baked pastries and tea or coffee. You’ll also have the chance to purchase each of the authors’ books and have them signed following the session.

Saturday 30th April from 12pm-1.30pm
Writer and psychotherapist, Rachel Elliott will be presenting her debut novel, nominated for a Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction, “Whispers Through A Megaphone”, a fictional story about finding an oasis of silence in the inescapable din of the modern world.

Saturday 21st May from 12pm-1.30pm
Helen Babbs, author of two non-fiction books will be discussing her title “Adrift: A Secret Life of London’s Waterways” a literary journey which takes the reader on a tour of the people, politics, history and wildlife of London’s canals and rivers.

Saturday 11th June from 12pm-1.30pm
Jack Urwin will be talking about his first book “Man Up”, a darkly comical exploration into the toxic effects of masculinity and the emotional repression on society. Smart, funny and friendly, “Man Up” challenges and changes the myth of masculinity.

Stay on for brunch with delicious choices including crab on toast with chilli, coriander and lime mayonnaise or Scotch egg with black pudding and piccalilli to start. There’s a range of fabulous flatbreads and sharing boards, such as the mezze board featuring bulgur wheat salad, hummus, baba ghanoush, harissa pickled chillies and olives, or salads like the vitamin-packed quinoa bowl with avocado, edamame beans, spinach, pomegranate and lemon vinaigrette for mains. Finish off with an indulgent strawberry and mint pavlova or raspberry panna cotta for dessert.
