The Vestry, a new wine bar in Farringdon

If someday your friend is asking you a place where to go in Farringdon to have some small plates with good wine, which place would you recommend? Well, I give you the right answer is : The Vestry, in Farringdon.

Previously a vestry within St. Sepulchre’s Parish, The Vestry is a new wave wine bar concept a stone’s throw from Smithfield Market.

A wine selection steeped in provenance paired with seasonal plates of fresh British ingredients. Few weeks ago I enjoyed a hosted wine and food tasting – exploring some English wine and sparkling wine from Bolney Estate. And I have to say that I was very surprised how good this wine tastes.

Also, the food is just amazing. We shared some tapas with friends and each small plate was so delicious. Deep fried Colchester rock oysters with a tartare sauce, Venison salami, salmon with a honey and mustard dressing…  And I won’t forget their baked Somerset camembert with rosemary and garlic!

Food and wine is the best duo but it’s also better when there is some music. Every week at The Vestry, there is a diverse selection of up and coming blues and jazz musicians.

I highly recommend this place if you fancy some tapas with a good glass of wine.
